New research report from Sustainable Investments on herding
In two experimental simulations of a financial market, participants predicted an “upmarket" or "downmarket" conditional on diagnostic information sampled on each trial. Experiment 1 aimed at demonstrating irrational “herding". Experiment 2 examined the effects of economic incentives for making the same predictions as either the majority or the minority of the others. .
